I am always amazed (and impressed) how NZ in partcular and then Aus do so well at sport in general with the small population compared to other countries.
Netball, Cricket and Rugby being prime examples
Especially when we read how there is no support and costs are too high etc?

it has half the population of England, it should be competitive against England in most sports however in Rugby and Football it is quite poor. Not many nations take Rugby seriously either, and even South Africa its only popular among whites who are less than 10% of the population there.

I struggle with fishing - as in who is better, this forum has a few top quality entrants from both sides, I think England are winning at that one too, but it's not clear cut.

Name the sport and I'll tell you if it's worthwhile. There is no definitve list. The whole point is that I may have missed one.

Re: England v australia
Facts dont lie.
Currently
Australia
- 3/5 World titles
- Ranked top in 3/5 ICC rankings
- Ranked above england in 4/5 ICC rankings.
- Current Ashes holder for the last 6 years (which as we all know is the pinnacle of all cricket).
england
- 2 trophies
- Ranked above Australia in 1 ranking
- Zero number 1 rankings
- Hasnt held the Ashes for over 6 years
So how exactly are england currently better than Australia at cricket?
