Very harsh by birkalla to bring in a new coach, Patterson only there for one full season. Are the clubs expectations too big seems like it’s a merry go round with coaches there

Looking since Serg Melta was there - who was also sacked after releasing the trouble players, and going on a run of form.Football0008 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 12:30 pm Very harsh by birkalla to bring in a new coach, Patterson only there for one full season. Serg, Mike Barnett, Steve DG, Catanzaro, Goddard, Juan, Goddard, Trimboli, Patterson. All in 10yrs basically. Looks like they're one of the more risky coach choice options now. Even those promoted from within aren't safe.
Good luck to Stav, who correct me if I am wrong, has only taken Ad Uni as a 1st team coach before, and the players got him sacked there?

Hugo Gimenez was a player with West Adelaide in the 90s. I dare say he would be at least 60 years old.

Being 60 yrs old wouldn't be a problem to coach. A lot wiser than some younger coaches out there.

I was trying to say that I never heard of him coaching anywhere before and at 60 or there about it might be a tad late to start.SP999 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:04 amYes, I barely remember the player.milkyway wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 8:28 pmI think Karmann Ghia is having a laugh!SP999 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 5:07 pmWho's that?Karmann Ghia wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 3:28 pm Hugo Gimenez new coach at Blue Eagles is the latest talk

Re: 2024 Coaches
Hugo Gimenez has previously coached Blue Eagles, in the early 2000s. He was involved with the club for a number of seasons.milkyway wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 10:17 amI was trying to say that I never heard of him coaching anywhere before and at 60 or there about it might be a tad late to start.SP999 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:04 amYes, I barely remember the player.milkyway wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 8:28 pmI think Karmann Ghia is having a laugh!SP999 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 5:07 pmWho's that?Karmann Ghia wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 3:28 pm Hugo Gimenez new coach at Blue Eagles is the latest talk

It seems many on this forum treat anything prior NPL to those "english" supporters that neglect anything before EPL.

Age doesnt matter, but what does matter, is the Head Coach needs to have a FFA B Licence for State League 1. So he wouldnt qualify, although, that hasnt stopped any clubs from just listing the person as Head Coach who has that level of licence even if they arent the actual head coach.

Re: 2024 Coaches
They do matter in the Competition Rules. FSA are quite strict on this at NPL, SL1 and SL2 level.
Clubs who dont have a licenced coach at that required level are fined, thats why every club just lists the person who has that particular licence level.

Re: 2024 Coaches
The coach only needs to be enrolled in the course to pass eligibility.
This "strictness" you speak of has been loosely applied over the last few years.

Practical vs Theoretical
Playing experience vs Qualifications
I'll pick a coach with playing experience at a senior level every time.
No different to business world employment. Hiring someone with 10 years experience vs no experience and a qualification,

Jim Tsekinis quits West Adelaide.
Wonder what really happened for him to quit?
Wonder what really happened for him to quit?
West Adelaide regrets to announce the resignation of senior coach, Jim Tsekinis. After guiding the senior team for the past 2 seasons, Jim has decided to step down from his role, effective immediately.
During his tenure, Jim has played an instrumental role in the success and growth of our program. His passion for the sport, commitment to player development, and building of club culture by reconnecting with past players has been invaluable to the club. We extend our sincere gratitude to Jim for his hard work, dedication, and the positive impact he has had on our players and the entire West Adelaide community.
