For the quality on the park, they are boring and tactically deprived. May as well be watching Millwall.

I suppose they topped their group still. If they happen to go on and win it, as unlikely as it seems, will there be any back-tracking? Italy have won world cups with slow and stuttering starts before. Just saying. ;-)

If they keep playing the way they are, they won't win it.

I hope Southgate contract is extended after the tournament

wow. Italy got through on the last kick off the match. At least they are playing in this tournament this time.
Poland bundled out but drew with France. Holland may be lucky not to have been bundled out yet. Who would have picked Austria would top that group.

The National Health Service gave just announced that Gareth Southgate as a senior consultant to The Sleep Deprivation Dept .

All long term insomnia patients will be made to watch three England games prior to going to bed .

Trials over the past week have found that watching just one game can send 90% off to sleep before half time .

Nothings easy with Southgate in charge most likely to start with the same predictable and structure ( or lack there off ) on Sunday.

Sadly the LB is real worry with Shaw still injured. Here is a side from left field

Pickford

Walker Stones Geuhi Trippier

Bellingham Rice

Palmer Foden Gordon

Watkins

Not exactly from left field, but better than Southgate could come up with.

Everybody can see that the real problem is the 10 where Bellingham is supposed to be. I'm amazed he can fit his big head down the tunnel, he wants to be Captain Marvel and be everywhere at once and, once he gets the ball, he's not too keen on passing it on quickly. Because he won't stay roughly in position, there's a vacuum and Kane has to drop deep to get the ball, or Foden has to come from the left, leaving us with no centre forward or no left winger. Given that I think Saka is unfit, it makes our whole attack dysfunctional and easy to defend, which is probably why we can't score.

I still think Kane is better than Watkins, unless we're intending to resort to lumping it over the top, but Palmer, Foden, Gorden / Eze should force Bellingham to stay more in the centre, but he can still make forward runs when required. It just looks more balanced. Rice hasn't been great either, so Mainoo / Wharton might get a go. Gallagher is a run around headless chook, but lots of aimless mileage seems to impress Gareth.

120 minutes of England dross saved by brilliant goal from Bellingham and winner from Kane.

Surely reality has set in for Southgate to ring changes for the Switzerland game. If England play like that against Switzerland it will be all over by half time.

Bellingham was absolute pants until he scored, now everyone will be singing his praises and Gareth waffles on about "I never thought this was the end". What a load of bollocks, it was awful to watch.

Rumours circulating that Southgate will switch to a back 3 for the Swiss game .

Yet another boring display by England, with once again Southgate saved by one moment of brilliance by Saka . Which was England’s first shot on target .

We looked better, more balanced and Saka had his best game so far, looked far more like his usual self, but playing joint 10s didn't work for me. Bellingham is still pushing Foden out of the 10 position then abandoning it himself, he rarely plays an early ball, preferring to run with it. Trippier was obviously a weak point, might as well play Gordon or Eze, but Shaw looked OK when he came on, so I suspect St. Gareth will revert to four at the back and bore the Dutch into a 0-0.

At least if it's goalless I get to drink my beer instead of launching it. ;-)

The Germans are getting very upset with that non handball decision in their match against Spain. IMHO I think 100% pen.
That referee Anthony Taylor seems to be in some sort of controversy in just about every PL match he is in. If think Taylors mind was more on Cucurella's hair than the match.

What gets me is even the blatantly obvious gets botched even with VAR, so can only determine that corruption is now worse than ever before. The game's caretakers have failed.
And do England fans really care about the style of football if they happen to win the thing? I note their cricket team seem to care more about the way they play other than winning. Confusing bunch, the poms.

Getting out of bed at 4:30am tomorrow to watch England would be like having a lovely swim in a pool, then getting out to roll around in dirt, and then getting back in the pool.

There's no point, may as well just stay in the pool.

VAR just as poor in this competition as they are during league season

How you can give that pen this morning, compared to the blatant handball is unbelievable.

Tournament football doesn't require having to actually play well.
No doubt you need a bit of luck but you still have to get the results that matter.
Credit to England for making another final.
