John Terry's Red Card Rescinded

Post by Football_lad »

John Terry has had his red card Rescinded by the match review comittee.

What a load of Barossa Pearl this is! Does this mean that anyone can get their red card rescinded provided there is another player within ten meters or they are outside the box?? What a load of crap this is. I guarantee if this was any other club or possibly player it would not have happened. Can Vidic appeal his red care then as the 2nd yellow was soft?? John terry is now allowed to play this weekend against Manchester United.. What a load of Bollocks!

First of all I'm biased, so we'll get that out the way first.

It was a 'soft' red card if he was sent off for a professional foul and he was considered to be the last defender by the Referee. If that was the offence then justice has been served.

However, is it right that a Referees decision is over turned, in my opinion, no it is totally wrong, the Referees decision should be final and no correspondence should be entered into. If you cop a bad decison [and who hasn't over the years] then tough luck, how many times should you have been sent off and you weren't, so it evens out in the long run. We should have copped it sweet.

But geez I'm glad he's playing this weekend...........

just to clarify, JT was sent off for "serious foul play" and not for "Denying and Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity". Had he been sent off for the latter then his successful appeal would have been straight forward.

Vidic cannot appeal his red, because there is no appeal on a caution.

the FA has always had it in 4 united.... we get rejected so many times... this time the captain of england takes his case 2 the FA and they let him off

it was a very soft red card. carvalho behind terry so he wasn't last defender. stop having a whinge man u supporters. it was a proffesional foul which is a bookable offence. if anything, vidic should have been sent off because if keane had got around him then it would of been a 1 on 1. fair play for chelsea to appeal it

as i said earlier, he was sent off for serious foul play so the positioning of carvalho is irrelevant.

id say def a yellow but no red
terry is too experienced to attempt a professional foul which would get him a red

Don't know what all the complaints are about. Noone in their right mind would have called that a straight red offense after viewing the footage, and in the appeal the referee even admitted that he had made a mistake in sending him off.

Vidic's was for 2 yellow's wasn't it. The only appeal against 2 yellow's is mistaken identity.

SERIOUS FOUL PLAY (from the FIFA website) Any player who lunges at an opponent when challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive forceand endangering the safety of an opponent, is guilty of serious foul play.

I know I am chelsea fan but I dont think the JT was guilty of challenging for the ball using his legs, there was definately not excessive force involved (he went down like sack of patatoes) and he diffinately didnt endanger the safety of Jo.

So i think from that you can all see why the red card was overturned. A booking yes but red... NO CHANCE.

Bring on united!!!
