Re: Stepney
I play. Facilities are fine. Could use some new balls.
Having only played elsewhere at Findon, the refs are about the same. Very quiet though..

Played on a friday night a few weeks ago. Kept a clean sheet so can't complain.
Does Kevin Rudd refer to his genitals as the stimulus package?
Re: Stepney
Windsor Gardens ICA is soo much better.
I played at Stepney last year and there really is no room to move on playing on only one pitch whereas WG is played on two.
Also if the ball hits the roof at Stepney it is a free (possibly worst rule apart from Brahma Lodge? i think or another ICA where the ball can't be played above the head) whereas WG it is just play on.
Refs are pretty good, Nick who refs all games on Friday night and one court on Sunday doesn't take any crap and isn't afraid to use the BLUE card.
Sunday Div 2 is probably the same standard as the Friday league (I played in both up until recently). Sunday nights have more of an atmosphere with i think 4 divisions being played.

Re: Stepney
Played at Findon, and their bigger courts were good (At Windsor, I played in goal the whole game), and had more time on the ball.
So you could say, it's takes more skill to play well at Stepney, cos you have less time before getting closed down.
Want another game this week Cunning?

So what you are saying is, you don't have the skill to play in a confined area?kmaau wrote:Stepney is a joke - too small and crowded.
Windsor Gardens is 1000X better.

Lol, i've played rebound at Windsor, Findon, Stepney, Abefoyle hub, and futsal at, Marion, Unley, Magill, Clipsal Powerhouse and Flinders.
Rebound wise Windsor is better ( court wise, i found the comp tougher at Findon), Futsal wise I found Magill the best for competition.
Stepney is too much of a narrow hack fest, but i think for a social team with not much skill it's a great way to play, I think most if not all skill goes out the window once you're relying on walls for all of your passing, which is why a bigger court is better because you rely less on deflections, and more on actual passing.
I'm not knocking either venue, i just think each have their target demographic, i'd happily play at both ( and did).

Re: Stepney
Windsor gardens is quality, Nick the referee is experienced and not only does he controll the game well but he is willing to complement players when they do something good . I have played at Stepney, Brahma, Modbury and Findon and to be honest Windsor has the best facilities with newly laid carpet and double nets. the only negative is the goals. Brahma lodge for me have the best goals as they aren't over sized and there is no way for the ball to get behind and have confusion.
IMO Windsor is the league to play and with one league on a friday and one on a sunday there is pleanty of competition.
p.s. if anyone needs a fill in for indoor I wouldn't mind giving it a go again. pm me with details....
