Div 9 is shaping up to be a solid div with newcomers to the Div in Athelstone and UniSA.
I know that it is not as "high profile" as other Divs, but still worth a set of tipping/predictions.
Round 1
Beograd Generals vs Athelstone
Intel: Beograd have players coming back in the As which will filter players down from A's to Bs and Bs to Cs respectively. Negative is the team hasnt yet trained together lol
FOB vs Brahma
FOB last years champs vs. Brahma who still are apparently solid in the Cs.
Raptoprs vs Plympton
Raptors usually fill solid teams. The Bullies keen to improve on last years efforts/results
Elizabeth Grove vs UniSA
Have no idea about either

Athelstone won't concede with their impressive centre back marshalling the defence ;) Seriously though... 1-1
FOB vs Brahma
FOB look very good. 4-0
Raptoprs vs Plympton
2-0
Elizabeth Grove vs UniSA
4-0 based on UniSA basically being thrown together at the last minute

Elizabeth Grove by a couple
Fantastic to see so many people taking an interest in the 9C2's.
I can't comment on any other clubs obviously because i haven't seen them. UniSA will be an interesting entity this year. In around two weeks we have gone from non-exixtence to a club with about 20-25 players to fill one side. There are a good range of players and i think we will surprise a few people. But i think it will take a couple of games to get things going and have everyone playing cohesively.
Good luck to everyone. look forward to Elizabeth Grove hospitality.

Good luck this week UniSA.
I will be interested to see how you go!
Great news about the numbers as well... from nothing to 20 players presents another challenge. We could see UniSA fielding two teams soon.

Must play better on the road than at home
No country who has never qualified for the world cup should be allowed to host it at the expense of one who has.
Sod Japan, sod Qatar, sod Blatter and his cronies!
ManicD wrote:And the fact that we don't have the same team as when we played Old Ignations in preseason...
yer practice matches are just to see where everyone is at ...... that game was our first together (v iggies). About half the team is the same .... but has the guys have improved and started to gel over the last couple of months and we are alot better now than then.

We were very much undermanned as a few key players failed to show. My injury didnt help matters.
I think if we had 11 on the park the result may have been different. Great bunch of guys too...
Their Number 14 is a standout.... def not a C player... we would love to have him on our team
yes u guys were.... i recognised a few of ur boys from the reserves last year. hope the injury heals quickly and ur playing next week. hahahah yer ref thought we whinged a lot... i personally didnt complain ... i actually thought he did a really good job.
lol thanks now i have to give him a different no. know he isnt, theres no doubt about that, he didnt wana play in div 1 /2, unmotivated so we gave him the option to be the big fish in the small pond......
Congratulations to my boys who went down today 2-1 to elizabeth grove. Played very wellfor a group that has barely trained together and which hardly knew each others' names. Well done to Eliz Grove. Game could have gone either way. I felt if we had taken our chances the result could have been different.
Look forward to taking on the Raptors at Magill next weekend.
Kitchimo wrote:Well done on starting the season on a high. Coaching and playing is tough, good luck son.
thanks.... hahahah yes it is, it takes a big of an edge off ur game especially with the interchange and getting layers into their positions etc ..
good luck to u guys as well...
Given how you played yesterday, maybe you should just stick to coaching ;)
hahahahhahaa yer maybe i should stick to that, at least that way we would have a better team ... by the way ur doing non stop running
The results seem to be wrong on the website anyways... i thought i read in the result thread that FOB won, SAASL have them as losing, plus our result is wrong. The advertiser usually has the results listed in the sports section if u wana know the result badly.
we had 4 blokes pull out morning of the game and 4 others pull out midweek. sucks for rnd 1. but thansk to the fields boys for giving us a few players and then have a kick around for an hour or so. well done fellas.
