It's going to be interesting to see how Gardens and the Downs are going to keep all of these blokes happy. Some are going to be playing ressies, and seriously, how many of them are really going to stick around and play in the reserves comp if they want first team action. No doubt there will be some players walk before the season starts if they are no guaranteed a starting spot in the first 11.

That's the key, most of the squad have been together for a number of years now & play for the club not themselves. In saying that having a 1st team squad of 25 will certainly pose some problems with player management, but what a problem to have...

SAASL DIV.1 CHAMPIONS 73,75,78,02,10,11,13

Agreed Nuggett, it's a great issue for a club to have. Some will stay, others may be disheartened if players come in and take their spot and may leave... so long as it is in the best interest of a club for the long term then good on them... however there is a fine line between the short term and long term interests being served.

Im going to agree with you Nugget  It is a fantastic problem for these clubs to have as long as everyone is playing for the right reasons. Nothing better for a coach than to be sitting down looking at a list and trying to figure out how he doesnt have room for top quality players. If Gardens and Downs do manage their 'lists' properly it could be a cracker of a season!

We lost Freddy from last years squad who only play 5-6 games & picked up 6 Quality 1st team Players, so it's all looking good for this time of year. But we all know you dont win Div.1 League Championships in Febuary.
The 2011 season can't start soon enough, especially the next Gardens v Downs Battle...

Farm sounds like drowning rats leaving the ship. Why would you go to a club that has hair styles that look like drowned rats in Parafield.

The sheep shagers might relegated this year?

Everyone that we expect is out at training with possibly 2-3 more to come. Who ever it is, assuming its not a stirr, seems to be keeping quiet about it.

Heard today that a Saturday Div 1 team is offering $150 per week, one training, win/loss/draw.

Based in the inner North/Western suburbs apparently, so three leading candidates.

Playing for money or playing for trophies I know which one I'd choose :D

Those that chase money will win nothing thats why they keep changing clubs & have nothing to show

What about the Beach Boys? What's happening out there. Don't want to see them relegated. Hopefully they've picked up a few.
