I assume this was in the Northern Messenger? (not attributed on the SAASL website - if it didn't come internally, poor form). Great stuff!

Re: SAASL Premier League Preview
You have got to honestly ask why the Downs are favorites? I understand they have signed Nathan and he is great pick up, Motts is back at the healm BUT Parafield Gardens won everything last year have lost Freddy but picked up Stevey J and a couple of others, They won the Chiconowski after being 2 nil down. People may say im biased as I played for Gardens BUT its not that at all I just think Gardens will be the team to beat again this year. I think the Downs will be a much better side than last year and will be there main rival.
It made for interesting reading and I think its great that The Amateur League gets some publicity in the local paper.
It is going to be a cracking year and good luck to all teams involved!

I think you will find that the journo asked the people he interviewed who that thought would win the league outside of their own team and that's where is predictions came from.

Jay I understand that, & like I said we're very happy for Downs to be favorites as Florina were last year until Round 17.Jay Now Hobbling wrote:I think you will find that the journo asked the people he interviewed who that thought would win the league outside of their own team and that's where is predictions came from.
