Jimmy Hughes the 2nd. was a quality player who played at Salisbury United & Elizabeth City before playing for the Vale...
I had the good fortune of playing 5 a side with young Jimmy jnr, great indoor player as well. They started a competition at the Elizabeth, I was asked to play for a team called the " Celts" ( early 80's ? )no connection to Celtic Club, caused a bit of controversy as we played in Rangers colours. Side also included Roger Nicholls, teenager named Richard Preston, Mick Rees ( Apac, Downs ) and a guy called Harry Kurmelovs, who use to play for West Lakes Rangers,he was good, I think he may have been snapped up by Parafield Gardens for a couple of seasons.

I have this knack of not reading things that dont interest me.
My trained eye can pick any post by Bodo, Nugget etc
and immediately skim past it.
Some folks see a sign reading "If you notice, this sign is not worth noticing".
And then read it twice more.

I can teach this, but in p.m only.

The old 92 year team is the continuation of the Southern Knights club. Babiero is Fabians father who has played for Noarlunga and Southern knights for many years. Fabian grew up around southern Knights for his junior years with current southern knight players. You probably expect fabian to come to the knights when he has finished with his good career.
The mooneys there are Colin and Steve Mooney. Harrison is Matthew Harrison still currently at the knights.
In the adelaide Celtic Team photos R. Finlayson is the Southern Knights chairman. Also the C.Mooney the goal keeper in the celtic teams is the bother of Colin Mooney and the Steve Mooney in the Noarlunga team.
Hope this helps.
Steve Mooney is still playing at Noarlunga now, great player and a great guy who has taught me and many orthers a few things since ive been at the club.

Yep Lisbon it looks like the Masters League is on, also talk about some of the younger lads starting it up again in the SAASL, just like we did in the early days

Can confirm we have approached the masters league to gain entry next year and have attended a meeting to get the ball rolling. Looking for a squad of around 16-20 to allow for absences during the season. There has already been a lot of interest and will reveal names once players put pen to paper. Games are played at West Beach on sunday mornings and must be over 35 years old to register. Please contact me on celtic67@virginbroadband.com.au if you are interested.

heard the o'neill brothers kicked started the masters league inclusion

a few of us talked about making it a saasl side but many feel it would be too hard to leave clubs we are currently at, maybe one day

hopefully the young v old game happens as i keep hearing rumours about it

Adelaide Celtic Masters League 2012. We are all but assured a place for this season. Will be confirmed early next month after AGM. New and old players are invited to a kick about in the parklands and a pint or two afterwards. Sunday 5th February 2012 @ 11:00am Mackinnon parade North Adelaide (uni loop near old lion) and then to Daniel O'Connell North Adelaide for lunch/drinks. We have good numbers, should be a great season. Eoin, Gav and Arty.
