Re ABE v Metro u/17 cup game, I believe that 5 of the "u/19" lads who played for Metro u/17s still qualify as u/16. ABE also played a SASI player in their team, so they should not stand on a pedestal and cry foul - just take your medicine and accept defeat gracefully (if that is possible). For Metros part, don't come the "needed game time" crap! You wanted to beat ABE by playing your best available side of qualified players. As long as all players fell inside the qualifying rules, why is anybody complaining?

Certainly within the playing rules so no real problem there........except some Clubs/Coaches choose not to drop players down for Cup games and some Clubs/Coaches do. As long as that inconsistency is allowed to happen then these sort of discussions go nowhere fast :(
Given the fact it is Junior football though, I do wonder why players who have been selected for a Senior side are playing down. The real answer is to try and win games. Full Stop.

Agree, at the end of the day it is up to each club to decide what is their philosophy when it comes to their juniors.
When I personally have faced these situations previously I have adopted the attitude, if it is in the rules so be it.
Of course we know rules do sometimes have shades of grey.
Some people tell me that we professional players are soccer slaves. Well, if this is slavery, give me a life sentence.

Whatever happened to the Tuesday Advertiser Results Column posting?
Everyone knew what had happened on the weekend (if they wanted to) :?

Can we expect to see these anywhere before the next round :?:

We know winning isn't important but it would still be nice to hear the results :clown:

The scores are dead accurate if that’s what you are referring too
But if you’re not.......

Listen I’m not going to get into an debate about playing down players, its up to the clubs/coaches but, older age group football in this state is pretty tight, most players/coaches know players from other teams as they go to the same schools, use facebook and in the case of coaches may have coached them in the past and they know where their mates are playing esp if there playing 19s. So when those same lads rock up on a Sunday it’s not rocket science to work it out, esp if one of the lads is bragging on the pitch (Para-phrased as this is a junior forum) 'this is easy because I usually play 19s". I would just like to clarify I’m not singling out Metros they’re not the only team to do it and I’m sure they won’t be the last.
This has been done to death so, as I said all within the rules, so good luck to you.

if a player is elegible for playing u16 or u17, thats nothing wrong with dropping. thats lots of considerations, injuries, game time, different coach. if you tell me that players are dropped to win games, humm that is wrong
