Vikings & Raptors relegated. Raptors' players didn't seemed to be too phased by it after their game. Perhaps they weren't aware they were down at the time.

Great result for the Knights today. A typically tough encounter between two fierce rivals

I thought Raptors looked dangerous early and took a deserved lead, but Knights equalised just before the break.

The second half was a complete different story. A Knight substitution midway through the half turned the game their way with Thommo netting a brace either side of a scorching volley from Scott Bradly leaving the Raptors stunned.

I'm sure Raptors return to Div 3 won't be a long stay and they'll return to Div 2 sooner rather than later.

ps....the Yiros's wee sensational

I'd agree with most of that. You didn't look like scoring until two minutes before half time (didn't see that one coming either) but whatever your coach said at half time did the trick. The volleyed goal from the free kick was probably one of the best I've seen in the SAASL in a long time. Thommo scored a brace for the reserves too.

On a side note my yiro was pretty ordinary.

We will be back. Didn't deserve to lose today. Played so well with 10 men for 50 minutes. Gardens scored both in the last 5 but we hit the bar, had one disallowed, missed a one on one and in the last few minutes we had a free kick which the guy in the Gardens wall basically caught but the ref was standing behind him. That's football I suppose.

What a day out at Collins Reserve.

Let's do it from C team to A team today as u wouldn't read about it.

Fulham 2 - Beach 2

0-0 at half time and needing a point it just didn't look like Fulhams day from the start with half chances going begging and Beach having 1 cleared off the line.

2nd half Beach went 2-0 up in the 1st 15 minutes and were unlucky not to get a 3rd with Fulham going for broke.

Then with 10 to go Beach won a penalty and the game was all but over if they scored but it was saved by Ben and from the counter Fulham scored and it was 2-1 with 10 to go.

Fulham pushed and then won a clear penalty with 5 to go and it was suddenly 2-2 and Fulham hung on for dear life with Ga Pala and the Vig never looking so determined to close out a game in all there years and give Fulham its 1st silverware in A, B or C grades in 10 years.

B team

Fulham 0 - Beach 1

Didn't c the game due to the celebration from the game before but a top half of the table finish was a gd performance from a coach in his 1st year.

A

Fulham 2 - Beach 0

Where do we start?

Drama everywhere and when Beach were reduced to 10 men just b4 half time it looked like only a matter of time b4 fulham got 1 of there numerous chances.

Finally Fulham got 1 and could have had a bag full but got a 2nd with a few minutes to go but the real focus was on the Gardens - Florina game and it all looked lost until Brooks became Fulhams saviour.

How ironic after all that happened this week it was Brooks who sent Florina crashing to Div 2
in the 87th minute and then Spiby put it beyond doubt.

It would be so shattering for Florina but unfortunately 1 of us had to go down.

Fulham will be celebrating long and hard as the drama on this day will probably never be repeated and to come out on the right side of it was just fantastic.

Finally thanks to all the Beach lads - fantastic club and bunch of blokes and hope we can resume our derbies in 2013 in Div 1.

yes must say I take no joy in seeing Raptors relegated although the spirit seemed lacking and poor Basset in goals had a bad day out

good luck next year if you keep your squad together should be back up soon

Thanks Mega, during the game we gave you heaps, but after didn't mention relegation, in fact we were so concerned about our own team we didn't really know the other conotations

Would rather have seen a few other clubs go down but lets not go there

ISC Raptors ( 1 ) Southern Knights ( 4 )
.............................. Matt Harrison
.............................. Scott Bradley
.............................. Paul Thompson 2

A huge sense of relief for Southern Knights today as they came from be 1-0 down to winning 1-4 and retained their foothold in SAASL Sunday Dvision 2 for 2012.
Coach Ben Smith, still buoyed up from playing in South Adelaide Panthers 1-2 win over Salisbury on Saturday night, managed to extract plenty of effort from a yet again depleted Southern Knights side....minus Glen Crute, Bradley Armour, Alex Field and Ben Vidgeon.
Knights got off to a nervous start and found themselves 1-0 down after Raptors were able to break through a flat Knight defence and slot the ball home. Steve Maguire in Knight goal subsequently denied Raptors from stretching their lead several times.
At the other end, Nathan Bassett in goal for Raptors looked strong in the air and he too deinied Knights a much needed equaliser.
Knights eventually equalised a minute befor half time when Matt Harrison pounced on the ball from a corner.
After the break Knights looked a totally different side and pressured Raptors...however, it wasn't until substitute Paul Thompson entered the fray that Knights were able to go to a 1-2 lead.
Knights went further ahead when Scott Bradley superbly volleyed from 30 metres giving Bassett no chance.
The final nail in Raptors coffin came when Paul Thompson pounced for his second goal of the game ( and 4th for the day).
Best for Knights today were Steve Maguire, Matt Harrison, Mick Paay, Paul Martin, David Mooney, Ben Jones, Chris Bradley, Lee White, Scott Bradley, Andre Rickers, Lyndon Parry and Paul Thompson :D

Commiserations to Raptors, who I think have the depth and club strength to bounce back from this setback

Reserves
ISC Raptors ( 5 ) Southern Knights ( 2 )
.............................. Paul Thompson 2

PONTIANS 1 VALE 2

Thought today was a game where both teams were just looking forward to next week and just wanted to get through the game without and injuries and cards. It was a nice open game and it was end to end stuff without too many crunching tackles (both teams probably happy with that :) ). The Vale boys looked sharp up front and they created two clear cut chances that they finished well. Our boys are looking forward to a full squad getting back together this week at training as there will be a big fight for positions. Guys who didn't play should be very fresh :D
