The fixtures look to be up on the SAASL website, but they merged over 35s with some other club C teams? to make up Div 9?

Nah, they are all 35 teams. They haven't put the 35 name part in where the club doesn't have a C Team is all.

It can vary - mostly it is normally 11.30am, Downs home games at 12pm and Modbury OBs home games at 1.30pm.Farpost wrote:What is the kick-off time for the O/35s?

Yeah our first game is a 11:30am kickoff at home (Inter) against the Downs before the B's game but i have heard the time can vary from week to week.
Ive also heard some teams are trying to get games on a Friday night which would be good i reckon but can't see it happening.

Re: Sunday +35s 2012
I'm sorry to say but inter having a 35s team & no C team is somewhat disrespectful to all the other Premier League clubs by creating a bye. Fair enough not to have a C team if you only can field 2 teams but to shun entering a C team IMO is wrong surely it has nothing to do with ko times but perhaps its just old blokes saying I dont wanna play against young fellas if so poor decision.
That's no disrespect to Inter but considering there history in SAASL div1 I'm surprised by this maybe they prefer to win a div 9 league than div 6 perhaps sirstevieg can enlighten us.

Re: Sunday +35s 2012
Lefty its not as simple as you have made it sound.
When i came back to the Club this year they had all intentions for a C Team but myself & a group of lads that have all played at Inter before wanted to get a 35's team going where we did pick up a few C teamers anyway as we are all around 40 years of age. I didn't come back to play in the C team mate as no disrespect meant but we can all play & ive seen the standard in C Team Division....why would we want to chase 21 year olds around???
Salisbury Inter have 3 womens teams a well so the pitch allocations could be a problem as we have to play some games on Florinas pitch when there is a conflict where they have helped us out.
Div.9 is a dedicated O35 League so don't compare that to winning Div.6 instead.
Anyway why doesn't your club have a 35's team then, different ways of looking at this???

Re: Sunday +35s 2012
the amateur league needs clubs that can guarantee fielding a team each week.
If Inter Didnt have enough to field a C team for the full 18 rounds, they did the responsible thing by not nominating a team.
no one wants forfeits half way thru a season.
Why Didnt the amateur league put in a 10th team from another club to avoid a bye?

The +35s league has a bye each week as does Div 6. Why dont the clubs tee up a game between to two teams having a bye from the respective leagues?

Re: Sunday +35s 2012
Most clubs like to have their players all at one ground for the day. Bringing in another team from Div 2 would have messed up the Div 2 C team comp more.Dickie Bird wrote:the amateur league needs clubs that can guarantee fielding a team each week.

Its disappointing Inter don't have a C Team but there are more important things to worry about.

Why is there a bye in the old boys league? I thought there was 10.htfac wrote:The +35s league has a bye each week as does Div 6. Why dont the clubs tee up a game between to two teams having a bye from the respective leagues?
If they put in a c team it would be disrespectful to the over 35's by creating a bye.
Is it really that big a deal that c teams in div1 have 2 Sunday mornings off through the whole season? Ask your c team players first before complaining, I bet there's a few glad of it.

Looking forward to this season, I like the close proximity of all the clubs, still a bit of travel involved for me, but at least I'm not playing half my season on primary pitches, struggling to get a sausage and a coldie afterwards, not to mention a hot shower, and travelling the length and breadth of Adelaide every 2nd weekend, like I would be having to in sat. Div 2. Get more games too!!

Hi there can anyone let me know if any clubs in Over 35 are still looking for players, I have been working away so was unable to do a pre season but am in Adelaide now and I am willing to train to earn a spot in a team, not expecting to walk in and start without doing some hard yards first.

Hard yards are generally put in on a Friday night for about 30 minutes. Then its a good 2 hour team discussion often involving beers and pizza in the clubrooms afterwards

The amount of complaining that goes on about some things is funny. Regardless of ability or age, some people still take their game very seriously.
