Where do you draw the line though? 50m, what about 50m1cm?

mathematically the answer is infinity, even though common sense tells you it's not.
Pretty sure you could draw the line at the end of the stratosphere, or wherever gravity end.

WHY? just because the ball floats away it could still float through the goal. Maybe the ashes would still float through the goal as well.

Remember, one of the yanks played golf on the moon. (cue sure beano)

So what your saying is, you're not using common sense when measuring the goals? Suprise suprise.

By your lack of logic, rugby goals are also infinite seeing as there is no height restiction.

there is a height restriction, the cross bar is 3m off the ground.

I'm using a mathematical proven formula, it beats common sense every day of the week and twice on sundays

Perhaps a bet is in order?

I have to go with the pom on this one.

how can you possibly think lftwng11 is right?

I'll happily have a bet with him, but we all know he won't turn up with the beer AGAIN!!

You know my stance on who the real poms are.

Anyway, the Bombers only need probably another 4 or 5 wins for the season for me to get a ton off lftwng11. :D

Yea so from 3m off the ground, the goals are have an infinite height. If the height of the goals is infinite in both sports... then what does it matter if it starts 3m off the ground, or not?

Infinite > "Infinite" less 3 metres!

turn up in a rugby match and kick the ball 5.7m to the right of the left hand post, how many point do you get?

now kick the ball straight through the posts but only 1m off the ground. How many points do you get?

PLUS, the prime method of scoring in rugby is not by kicking the ball. What part of that are you struggling with?

Bomber wrote:Infinite > "Infinite" less 3 metres!

it's actually more definitive than that.

5.6m x (infinite -3m) < 6.4m x infinite.

you can then add in that rugby league some kicks only get you 1 point. So it's actually (I assume the posts are all the same distance it's

5.6m x (infinite -3m) < 19.2m x infinite

Adding/subtracting numbers from "Infinite" is futile...

in·fi·nite (adjective)

1. immeasurably great: an infinite capacity for forgiveness.
2. indefinitely or exceedingly great: infinite sums of money.
3. unlimited or unmeasurable in extent of space, duration of time, etc.: the infinite nature of outer space.
4. unbounded or unlimited; boundless; endless: God's infinite mercy.
5. Mathematics
a. not finite.
b. (of a set) having elements that can be put into one-to-one correspondence with a subset that is not the given set.

Mathematically, they are not infinitely bigger than Rugby goals. They are 0.8m wider, and 3m shorter.

one is infintity the other is approx 500 square metres.

what is 0.8m x infinity?

i always top "infinity" arguments with "infinity squared"

well we are already talking about an area so the squares I thought was assumed.

The afl goal is 0.8m x infinity bigger than a rugby goal. Basic maths tells you the answer to that is infinity.

THEREFORE, an afl goal is infinitely bigger than a rugby goal.

QED!!!

i mean infinity itself is squared.. ie infinity X infinity... for a straight line

i wouldnt be surprised if that concept just blew your mind, it did mine when i first heard it.

In the SANFL it appears their U18 players have to pay to get into watch their reserves play, even if they played for the reserves the week before

(Stitch Jnr's cousin plays for North Adelaide and that's the story I got at the weekend!)

When kids play, its almost paramount that at each break (especially quarter and 3 quarter time) for parents to congregate on the field amongst the huddle when the coach does his address to players. Why? Stay behind the boundary line, its not your place to be there ffs!

1. Essendon and Ollingwood dictate to AFL that they don't have to have a clash guernsey.

2. Multiple rule changes every season and even sometimes mid season.

3. Fixtures based on money not equity.

4. Father son rule load of crap and not even fair to all teams.

5. Meatloaf per game concert.

Last time i went to an SANFL game, Children under the age of 18 were admitted for free, has this changed?

I'm only going on what the nephew told me. He played Reserves week before last and was then dropped to U18s for last week - he was clearly under the impression he had to pay if he wanted to go and watch the Reserves (at home).

easily fixed if they want it to. Tell them they have to have a change and if they don't they forefeit the game.
