- A redesign to bring this site into line with modern looks. - I would love to be part of updating the look and feel of this site!!

- A mobile version of the site so that its easier to browse to site on smart phones - We could use Tapatalk (http://www.tapatalk.com) and plug it into the forum software which is easy as, Use the tapatalk iPhone/android/windows and tablet software with their branding to give the users the option (to get the app) if they want. Alternatively we could pay (if viable) for the same software only customly branded (http://www.tapatalk.com/build.php)

- Separate A-League and local leagues

Hahaha.....

I still have v1 around here somewhere - maybe one day we could put it back online for a bit of fun.

So, any decisions on V3 yet?

So far it seems all we need is separate A-League and local league forums and some new, non-hypocritical mods.

4 and a half years later, and some progress, albeit at politician pace. :|

1. Create a retro forum, where you re-upload v1, so everyone can continue the old threads :)
2. Definitely consider Tapatalk - most forums are onto this by now...
-edit, or a dedicated FN app for Windows, Android and iPhony
3. Re-introduce a live flame alongside the topic name to indicate popular topics
4. Make it so you can't view any forums without signing in. This will give you a better indication on the number of regular users
5. have a section where we can share live streams
6. embed with other social services such as twitter, for us to be able to see live scores around the grounds :)
7. A feature to Like (and dislike) posts. Posts with over a certain number of dislikes can automatically be hidden from the forum, unless admin approves other wise. i.e self moderated forum! - like youtube!

In light of the topics being moved from forum to forum due to someone's personal taste, make moderators more accountable for their actions and identify who is changing things.

Surely its time (due to popular demand) to do the following changes:

1. Separate local football and A-League forums

2. Update mods - many current haven't logged on in years plus change it that no longer have "silent mods" (ie not listed on front page)

I was the last pport on that version of soccernews!

I think the 'Lounges' section should be merged. Make it pretty much anything not football related.
I don't mind having local football and a-league all in together.. makes that forum busier, which isn't a bad thing.

Tapatalk would be great too!

I like the idea of being able to add a 'thanks' to a post, so as to support it or show agreement.

Does football news have a Vic NPL forum, or is it SA only?

SA only, but there were a couple of Victorian league threads in the wild west. Feel free to create your own. Moderators will put it in the correct forum if need be.

We had a Vic NPL forum but it was lightly used and eventually closed. If there was interest we would add it.

We would also be happy to setup a sister site focused on Victorian local football - but would need someone who has a keen interest in it to drive the site.

A League's finished. It's now the Local Football forum

Shoot goal

Agree it is local football forum chat.
If a topic is slow or no interest it will soon fall off.
Just a single forum is good with No sub forums needed.

"Like" buttons for posts, like bigfooty does

Separating A League and State League forums is obvious

Motivation to get it done this century :)
