Great performance and effort by everyone today!
In the Bs it was a hard fought game and everyone was exhausted but we are through so that's all that matters!
The As battled for 90mins and put in a brilliant performance the entire game. PG dominated for 90mins but we defended solidly and put in the effort and determination that we have been showing all year!
Fantastic performance all round today and we look forward to some Polish beers with the PG lads!

Payneham 1 - 1 OTH

OTH won 6-5 on penalties.

Hard faught, end to end, game with chances for both teams.

One dog act moment threatened to ruin the day with a payneham player head-butting a OTH player behind play. Lucky the linesman was switched on and saw what happened and the scum got his marching orders. Both sides finished with 10 men after a OTH player collected a second yellow card. Game could've gone either way... Great for the OTH boys to get their first win of the season.

We went down to 10 men cos of injury & no subs, but battled & got 4-3 up first half of ET.
We tried to defend the lead but lasted all of 3 minutes.
Titans kept pushing & we tried, but died.
Good luck in the cup titans.
Positive is we do get the weeks off in the season.

You will find that Cougars reserve side will be SUPER strong this year in the cup! With players unable to play today and many injuries to key players. Well done to Grove though 7 nil huge win.

what stupid thing to say. Its the cup. Most top flight sides don't field full strength teams if given the opportunity as such. And that's taking nothing away from ISC. But the step is massive. Need better bait than that

Downs were hurt by fielding certain players against Flinders in a Cup last season...in particular Nathan Day was handed a 6 week suspension for swearing about an injury he received....probably exercising a bit of caution.

no bait mate....ive considered everything....it wasn't the result nor the score line at half time....with a couple of impressive bookends (Day at the back and Trimmers up front...the right midfielder seemed decent also) I don't think I saw a passage of play involving more than 3 passes (except in the back third)....but it wasn't just that....finishing was poor, 1st touch was poor and tactics were quite basic...

this is not about the Downs (who deserve credit for winning), simply making a statement about Div 1.....take it or leave it.....
