To help reduce cars coming into the city - otherwise there will need to be extra police in other areas around the city when they are probably needed closer to the stadium.

They will still block the roads off near the stadium, they won't close King William Road so not really going to make a difference.

There is also more chance of drink/drug drivers on the road if there are more cars coming into the city.

In that case, there should be free buses all the time, especially on weekend evenings.

Good enough for free buses for AFL good enough for The World Game.

None of the buses are "free". There's a cost incurred within the event ticket price.

It's a subsidised cost, but it's there.

Why was it not mentioned when tickets first went on sale? If it was incorporated into the ticket price then they must have known about it as soon as tickets went on sale.

They are not. Taxation revenues from all the visitors, fees incorporated into tickets and stadium fees and the like will more than cover the associated costs leaving the state with a tidy surplus.

Unless you run a pub around the city centre, in which case the surge of additional business you get will result in increased payments on various state taxes, but then again you'll be making more money so not an issue.

Ironically the additional funds generated will go into the pool of funds that provides you with government services. In many ways the Socceroos are keeping your costs down.

I guess you'll be buying a scarf then?

My taxes are paying for it as if they didn't offer it they would make more money. I don't think an overseas visitor is judging making the trip based on whether he has to pay for a bus or not.

Your portion would be less than 10 cents. Probably less than 5 cents.

That's OK then, the government should take 5cents off everyone and give it to me. After all, it's only 5c.

Do you have a problem with your taxes paying for it?

Yes, if you choose to go to a sporting event then why should your travel be free. Why isn't travel to the city free every day, workers in the city put money into businesses as well. That said, I'll take my free travel to the cricket :D

Finance really isn't your forte, is it. But enough about fiscally befuddled Englishmen.

A big crowd tomorrow night should be superb. At least Adelaide can offer a decent crowd and a flat surface, something that Sydney seems to struggle with on both counts.

Jedinak to CB with 3 at the back? I hope so as I'd love to see all of Mooy, Rogic, Irvine & Luongo in the middle in a 3-4-3 however it won't work unless Mile moves back (I can't see Ange sending the boys out there without him on the pitch).

As far as I am aware, if you spend money you end up with less money than you started with

The Tom Rogic goal was world class. He has always had a powerful shot. Aussie had a good second half. Leckie should have had a penalty.
I was expecting Mooy to dominate. Was quiet 1st half but good second like a few of his mates.

Obvious penalty.

Jedinak also had a shocker ( again ).
