Have collected a bit of dirt on the sensor of my 20D.
Taking it in for a clean.
Its the major drawback with digital slr cameras.

Get one free clean from the place I bought the camera.
They normally charge $99 for a clean - a bit rich!

$200 for the kit - sheesh - what type of kit did you get? One with the works?

those brushes have to be kept really clean. if they get dirty they are useless that's why they come in the hard plastic case. the can of compressed air is really expensive.
also, they come from america, so there is the exchange rate (which is good at the moment) but it puts the cost of things up here. and the photo shops put big mark ups on things like that.
but it does work out cheaper than $100 per visit for sensor cleaning.

I have done a little search and there are quite a few different kits around - none of them cheap of course.

After hauling my camera around Europe for six weeks the sensor has quickly picked up a bit of dirt.
Looks like I am going to have to invest in a sensor cleaning kit!

Bought the Euro kit and the brush on the fly kit from here: Looked at quite a few others but this one was recommended and it pretty good value compared to some of the other options.

Interesting one site said the pro-cleaners use a lense paper dabbed in alcohol attached to some rudimentary handle such as a straw to clean the sensor.

Well I can sing the praises of the Sensor Brush.
Cleaned off 99% of the dirt in the first pass.
More effective than I had expected.
