Focus on a new coach

Socceroos are stagnant, no movement, and playing long balls to people who are heavily marked.

Sounds like AUFC with Kosmina in charge to me.

I think you have to remember you are australia and cannot expect to always have world class coaches all the time.

You've had 2 in your time and one of those Venables, you treated like cabernet.

Agreed. But there is a happy medium between world class and absolute rubbish.

If Oman, Iraq, Japan, Vietnam, UAE etc can get expereicned coaches then so can we.

Agreed as well. Arnold does appear to be unable to coach his way out of a paper bag. I said early on, I would have taken them into camp in Cairns (whichout being a meteorologist - somewhere that's also humid). Personally I always like to see England coached by an Englishman. I feel a coach who has some passion towards the nation is essential. Saying that I'd rather have a jock in charge than Maclaren.

But then is there an australian coaching at a high standard at all?

Not really. And IMO it doens't matter where they come from. Hiddink took us to great heights (in oz football terms) last year and he's Dutch.

If they're good enough they can succeed regardless of their background
