Comets - Under 17 Cup

Post by Xplosive »

The scores show that the U17A side for Comets lost on forfeit to the Comets U17B in the 2nd round of the Cup last weekend, handing Comets B's a quarter final matchup against Metrostars.

By all rights, Comets B's should get an absolute reaming from Metro, at least 10 goals. But they won't will they? Because all their A players will play. And I bet the A's coach will be taking charge of Comets B's in the cup round.

This result absolutely stinks, especially in light of the forfeit win by the Comets U17A in the first round of the cup.

This therefore means that both squads of players are now eligible to take the field against Metrostars, because none of the A players have taken the pitch in the cup so far.

Comets have diddled this to suit themselves and it absolutely stinks.

Sort it out FFSA. What an embarrassment.

Would have been much more sensible for the Comets B's to forfeit to the Comets A's....same result anyway...

ive had a look at the email sent by the fed to our club, not show how unfair this is Xpolsive, because either way Comets would have played a Comets team in the end against MetroStars because its there is a knockout tree. so i would think that comets arent anyway cheating by putting their second side against them, there is no chaeting their because either COmets (1) or Comets (2) was going to face them

The reason Comets A's forfeited to Comets B's is because most A players were cup tied with the 19's and B's anyways. There are only about another 6 players able to play for the B's due to these ties.

If that's the case then I can see why it happened. You have to appreciate how dodgy it looks from an outsider's point of view though.

if it is all above board, and players are the right age, let it be, it can only improve the quality of the game, and after all the shite, better oposition is the best way to grow as a player.

Your talking out of your rear buddy, Comets A's didn't play their first cup game because Plympton forfeited. They didn't play their second game against the B's because they had three players tied to the B's, three tied to the 19's and another three that were injured. I don't know about you but most teams can't play with seven players  .

And so what if some of their A players play, Metro are just looking for an easy win and will probably go out there just to embarrass them. Dropping A's will not give Comets an advantage it will only even up the game.
