Why Henry & Not Neuer?

Post by MegaBonus »

whats the differences between the 'hand of frog' and Neuer's quick reaction to start the game???? why has henry been villified???

Neuer was all smiles at the end of the game as England prepared to pack its bags and head home on Monday.
Neuer said: "I tried not to react to the referee and just concentrate on what was happening - it was difficult. I knew it was close.

do the english hate the french more than the germans???? and if thats the case, isnt it like hating half of you more than the other half???

All Neuer said was he thought it was close, not he knew for sure.

The replays suggest he was looking directly at the faaarken ball.

Good point made in OP.

no....its a legit question.....

lets assmume that neuer had a resonably good idea that it had crossed the line (his eagerness to restart gives it away), how does his motives and sense of fair play differ from henrys..

PS...im no henry apologist....

i think keepers always look for a quick restart if possible, all he knew it hit the bar and was in the vicinity of the line

The difference is Henry uses an illegal action to control the ball and mislead the referee...Neuer simply plays on and we have to presume he witnessed the ball over the line...no more than players do all the time on the by-line.
Both players play on...that's the only similarity....however only one player appeared to act deliberately to gain an advantage !

I'm not technically astute in video capture, but I think the next one or two frames would indicate that the cheating sherry knew exactly where the ball was in relation to the line.

Players appeal for throw ins, hand balls, goal kicks, corners, feign injuries etc....why wouldn't you play on...it's the referee's linesman's call ?

But you have assumed Neuer was fully aware...that assumption does not have to be made in Henry's case.

well then, according to your reasoning, you assume that henry intended to handball the ball in. what if it was an involuntary action, where he didnt think about it?

there's plenty of hypocrits out there is many sports, don't see why you need to single out the jug eared cheat.

Henry deliberatly cheated, he admitted it after the game that he intentionally used his hand to guide the ball.

Nuer didn't cheat, he grabbed the ball and played on, sure he new it was over the line his reaction gives it away imo but he didn't break the rules in any way or form.

Maybe if he was a super honest he would have owned up but if he really wasn't sure than it's really unfair to even compare him to that dirty cheat Henry.

Say neuer was 95 or 99% sure, should he bury the ball into back of the net to remove all doubt from his mind or openly question the officials "Bitte Herr linesman, I think that it was a goal" or would he think no whistle huh must not have been a goal, they must have had a better view then me since they are paid to do that and I was jumping and spinning trying to save it.
