Do you think the latest approach (national curriculum) is consistent with the learnings from this research?
Have any coaches changed their approach based on this info? If so how?

Most of them won't change, the other side of the coin the development coaches , jobs for the boys.

The article just reemphasis the advantages of employing ‘match play’ based training sessions.....technique and superior football decision making (for the purpose of solving ‘football' problems) can only be refined in the absence of time and space during ‘match’ conditions as provided by active/aggressive opposition....
