Ofiicial Sat Div 7 (C's) thread

Post by Blotto »

Bugger it. Thought it would be good to start up a thread for the pretty competitive Saturday Div 7 (C's) comp since there are a few of us on here playing in it.

Cougars have take the early season advantage. The Cougars Stirling game on the 23rd of July could potentially be a massive game in the title race. MA Hawks, Gleeson and Comets are still in it.

Discuss away guys!

A few of the clubs sites:

Vipers: http://www.adelaidevipers.com/ Great site by the way. League table updated even before the SAASL do it.
Stirling: http://stirlingdistrictssc.com.au/

feel free to add your clubs page.

Was a good game. We had a few out - players moved up to our Div5 C's team, Injuries (myself included) etc

Game could've gone either way at 2-2 (was end to end) Gleeson are a pretty good side who fight hard.

Seems to be we always play a better 2nd half (kinda of the same thing that happened against Vipers). Gleeson were on top at half time.

Very tight league at the moment, but really can't see anyone catching Cougars.

Thought MA Hawks were a very good side when we played them, although it was only our second game together and we were struggling to gel.

We (Red Blue Eagles) played Cougars on the weekend, they look a fine team. We've only had a team for a few weeks so still trying to gel, but I'm looking forward to seeing some games under lights at the Veneto Club when we play the catch-up matches.

Maybe we'll take all catch up games at the Veneto Club and switch away game catch up fixtures in the second half of the season? Something that will need to be worked out.

Compared to last year, this season the standard has gone up a notch. Cougers should do the job especially given how screwed up the Adelaide justice system is their players will get off lightly :D :D

The battle to look out for I reckon is second...that should be tight

some :clown: called D-cup started a thread saying that the cougars would not be able to feild a team because there was a drug bust in Croydon. basically suggesting that cougars are drug dealers. Are you out there D-cup, you pedophile.

That's good. Don't want teams torn apart midway through the season. The League is going to get quite competitive come the 2nd half of the season.

Oh yeah FC Adelaide top of the bottom half! We've been unlucky in a few matches there's a couple of losses that easily could have been draws. Next match V Titans is big!

I reckon the 2nd half things will close up a bit.... Teams in the top half will have a bad day eventually and will no doubt drop points

God knows we've come close a few times...

Saw that 6-6 result, unbelievable.

Was it an even game or 1 side deserved to win more?

We need some hope for this week

I'll be honest, I didn't play that game (and wasn't there) so I can't really comment on that one.

But it shows that anything can happen...

i was at that game it was 4 all btw.........
game was very one sided actually and anyone at the game would tell u that despite coming back from 2 down cougars hit the post and crossbar no less than 6 times and a late penalty made sure we didnt walk away with all 3 points....
Sterling were very efficient on that day and in the non stop rain controlled the ball well in the right areas....
Gleeson is the last of the unknown tests left and we're ready for it..........
and u'll need much more than just hope to

Cougars 2 Gleeson 2

Gleeson equalised with the last kick of the game.
