glebe wrote:Thats what its all about, promoting the sport.. If Futsal SA take me on board I could help promote the game further but its up to them..

Just have a look at the crowds for Fusion's games and then see the difference when there are only a handful of people who stay for the next match.. Most people arent even Fusion supporters, they are there because we promote our fixtures.
Very true, glebe has done a lot of work in turning Adelaide Fusion into a reality. From talking about it in January this year to now. Hopefully everyone can get on board with the Fusion and see the interest the game can generate. I think this week against Eastern Warriors will see quite a few people at Campbelltown Leisure Centre.

This is a gradual process but one that we think is going to work for our club and the game at the mooment.

At this stage just in the off season. We all have outdoor commitments to fulfill, also the standard of competition in winter is not as high as in summer.

Basically not playing during the outdoor season but the club will still operate in terms of interacting with the community and holding training sessions.

Changes were informed on registration day. Would be better off making it an Open Competition.

Adelaide FUSION 4-2 Eastern WARRIORS

Goalscorers:
FUSION - MITRIS 2, CARBONE, A.FRISINA.
WARRIORS - PAPANDREA, BOSCO.

Eastern Warriors threw everything they had at Adelaide Fusion in the first ten minutes of the match, taking the lead early with Joshua Bosco unleashing a volley into the top corner. Fusion held their shape forcing the Eastern Warriors to shoot from long distances. Scores were level following a well worked counter-attack with Perry Mitris tapping the ball home from close range. The Warriors took the lead again through a Papandrea free-kick as he blasted the ball into the bottom corner. The atmosphere was building with the insides of Campbelltown Leisure Centre packed on the spectators side. Stephen Piotto made his debut for Fusion in this game and was the catalyst in providing the equalizer. Piotto played a series of passes with Mitris until arriving inside the penatly area gifting Mitris his second goal of the game. It was 2-2 at the break and everything to play for in the second half.

Shortly after the restart, Fusion had a quick counter-attack through Carbone and Francis in which Carbone fired home to make it 3-2. The Warriors began to lose their shape and were forced to chase the game from this point onwards. Fusion controlled the ball at the back until drawing out the two forwards with Raff Frisina playing a return pass with pivot Mitris and then sliding the ball across for Alessio Frisina to seal the game. There was late dramas however, an off the ball incident involving Fusion keeper Anthony Capaldi and Warrior's lefty Jonathon Corbo. The outcome was a controversial red card for Capaldi and a penalty awarded for Eastern Warriors with one minute and six seconds remaining. The cards weren't put away for too long with Perry Mitris being shown his marching orders following exchanged words with an official. Fusion were down to three players as Jamie Carbone stepped up as goalkeeper for the remainder of the match. Warrior's captain John Papandrea was sure to score the penalty but his effort was blasted into Carbone much to the delight of Fusion. The Frisina brothers soaked up the pressure against two extra players for the final minute and were unlucky not to score on the break before the end as Marc Piteo came out strong to deny a fifth goal.

A strong win in the end by Fusion who now have five wins from five games in the U23 Futsal SA League and sit top of the table, two points clear of Hammertime.
