Why have a coach then, maybe just someone to take training?Athelstone 1973 wrote:Athelstone Soccer Club require experienced Coach to take charge of Division 4A Team.

sounds like a job that would suit the highly respected and recently retired , Mr M .Brooks.Would be well worth a call. May allso bring the highly prized scalp of a former pink boot wearing player if the bridges have been mended.build it and they will come.

Re: First Team Coach Required for Division 4A Team
The way Nick James left the club is the reason why we are in div 4. And were in Div 5 last season.
No chance of him ever making a return.
At this stage of the season if a coach can come in and bring new players by all means do it but its unlikely.

Re: First Team Coach Required for Division 4A Team
Why even say that teams are selected that would turn a lot of people off...
Very stupid statement really.
Agree, what you need is a yes sir man...

its obvious they meant that they have enough players for their squads, not that the players are already preselected into their teams

Never argue with an idiot - they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Re: First Team Coach Required for Division 4A Team
If you have ever seen our reserve team play you'd know why the first team is "selected"!
Plenty of players at the club this year; still a lot of first / second year players learning the game in the B's.

By the way athelstone 1973, would you like to elaborate on why nick wouldn't be welcomed back??? I remember him taking the club when they were struggling for players and making them a very competitive outfit.... Short memory ?

Re: First Team Coach Required for Division 4A Team
I was at Athelstone in the early days with Nick, the atmosphere at the club was fantastic and Nick had a very successful time coaching, and has had success more than once. I can't understand why people would say he's not welcome back... I'm pretty sure if you looked back in through the club history books, Nick is responsible for a lot of the success the club has had.
It may be your opinion Athelstone 1973 that Nick is not welcome back but I'm sure it is an opinion only shared by narrow minded people, with a short memory and not aware what Nick has actually achieved with Athelstone over many years.
