Freo targeting Danyle Pearce. Chaplin to Richmond looking likely so far (good!!!). Rodan was apparently seeking a return to Richmond (but now that Primus is gone, he will probably stay).
Some names linked with Port so far are Hayden Jolly (GCS), Jordan Russell (Carl), Angus Monfries (Ess), Chris Knights (Adel) and Liam Jurrah (Melb).
Free agency period will be very interesting!

Slattery and Monfries could be Power players as early as tomorrow. Both are keen to come to Alberton

I'd be happier with Monfries. Hopefully Slattery being a Power fan growing up may find that passion to play well while here or he will get delisted like Scott Harding and Jay Nash did after only a couple seasons if that. I think Monfries has more potential though.PDog wrote:they're both pretty ordinary. monfries less so.
Re: AFL trades/retirements/free agents
Monfries is a good pick up that I'm content with but I don't want to see Slaterry anywhere near Alberton, the guy's a spud of the highest order, we just got rid of Chaplin, Slattery is dare I say worse. Jordan Russell should come in during the week, he'll steady us down back and give us some rebound and then theres others like Hayden Jolly who's quit Gold Coast and wants to head back home. We've been linked with Levi Greenwood from North, is a Port lad who's pushing for a move back to Alberton.
Then we have pick 7 in a very strong draft, some very good players will slide and we could end up with a player that was touted as being an easy top 3, plus we have our compo for Chaplin and Pearce to come in which should be another first rounder. Some nice building blocks for Hinkley and Richardson to work with.

Russell has atrocious kicking skills, one of the most frustrating players I've seen.

Been out of touch the past couple of seasons but I still think he can recover the form he had when he finished 2nd in the Carlton B&F behind that years Brownlow medalist Judd. If not he's still an upgrade on Chaplin.

He is very much a confidence player - which I think may hurt him at Port.Paokara wrote:Been out of touch the past couple of seasons but I still think he can recover the form he had when he finished 2nd in the Carlton B&F behind that years Brownlow medalist Judd. Still wish him the very best, class bloke and always tried to correct his (many) errors when he pulled on the jumper instead of dropping his head and cracking it.
