2012/13 Nationals - Mens Junior Team

Post by admin »

Huge News

As mentioned in the related topic, the SA Mens Junior team made the final at the 2012/2013 Nationals and, from all reports, deserved to beat NSW in the final. Score was 0-0 at full time and they ended up going down 2-0 in extra time but only after having a player sent off. SA went through the tournament with the lowest goals conceded.

The big news is the SA goalkeeper from the SA Mens Junior team was so impressive that he has been asked to join the Australian Futsal team - yes thats right - the Futsalroos. He has been picked on the basis that they will develop him into the Futsalroos keeper for the next World Cup. This is brilliant news for the young kid. Well done. Lots of hard work ahead and obviously no guarantees but lets hope it all works out for him.

he wont get picked next year then, the open men's team has a habit of doing that to keepers after they are selected to train with the national team.
Dan Birdwell - You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four.
