UEFA Champion League
The UEFA Champion League recognized basically as the Champion League, and at first recognized as the European Champion Clubs' Cup or European Cup, are an annual continental club football opposition organized by the Union of European Football Associations in 1955 for the top football clubs in Europe.

Not sure if it's been discussed before on here but what are people's views on the fact that the old European Cup seemed to be much easier to win than the competition in it's current format?

I think the current format is well set out not sure about the schedule, I think it may favour some leagues over others.....

New format nothing more than a compromise to stop the big clubs forming their own league, cannot stand how teams finish fourth year in year out in EPL and play in the Champions League.Jimbob wrote:Not really sure what the currant format is. Absolutely agree with the above.
The Champions League came about largely to preventthe big European clubs forming their own league and UEFA losing their big cash cow. It has been diluted in my opinion by teams winning it and not even being current champions of their own country. Plus the idea of Spurs ever having a chance getting near it is ridiculous thus devaluing it.

Hardly. Stop living in the past. The current format allows the BEST clubs in europe to compete. Things are very different in a cup format compared to a 38 game season. If this Cup was renamed would this topic really be a problem?
