Biggest Cup Scores

Post by Obi Wan - Kenobi Nil »

Curious as to what the biggest SAASL cup scoreline is or some of the bigger loses you've played in or seen?

Saw PHE put 23 past Andrews Farm on the weekend, that's the biggest I've seen for a while!

Wanderers B's had an 11-1 win in the cup on the weekend, not quite 23 I know.

But in the league, our A's beat Gryphons (now Titans) 14-1...

I ran the line in that game. They weren't called Gryphons that year. Navarino is the name
you're after.

The Downs had a big win against Murry Bridge in the cup a few years back. Think it was around 17? Tom Radford got about 8 that day?

Haha I can only remember about 5 of the 14 going past me... One of the worst days in goals. I can't remember why we played so poorly, but I know Brazza tore us a new one haha

Parafield had the biggest amount of missed scoring opportunites in a Cup - 15 (& I dont think I got them all).

Polonia had the longest period of time in a cup game for a striker not touching the ball - 90 minutes (did alot of running mind you).

Number 24 up front did touch the ball twice in the 90mins
Once at kick off and the second was a throw in ..!!
Best comment of the day came from the Polonia bench to
Angus Ducker after his many attempts at goal
"Angus come into the clubrooms after the game and we can
give you some sauce for all those chips"...!!

Any game that involved Adelaide Stingrays ended up in a goal scoring feast for their opponents, the old easy beats.

haha, I remember running the full length of the field (with the ball for the wise guys) and laid it off for a guy to get his hat trick & he missed a sitter. I rarely scored & could've… grrr The 1 Navarino scored came when we swapped keepers...
