Louis van Gaal for Manchester United

Post by swannsong »

Louis van Gaal will be Manchester United's next manager. He'll take over on a three-year contract after the 2014 World Cup. "This club has big ambitions; I too have big ambitions," said the Dutchman. "Together I’m sure we will make history."

Let's hope it's not another own gaal like Moyse's appointment.
Time for some righteous indignation

Oh my god.

Guys if you thought Mourinho was bad, wait until you experience van Gaal...

Prediction: He will do well in his first year at Man Utd but about halfway through his second season noone will be able to stand him anymore and he will leave

He's a good coach but ridiculously hard to deal with

Yep even from afar he comes across as arrogant. You mentioned that back on 26 April on the 'Moyes sacked' thread, and that was coming from you, an Ajax supporter.

An arrogant one like him normally chooses his own number 2. Did the Board foist Giggs on him as a counter-balance?

Do you think he will show his balls to his players to show dominance like he did at Bayern Munich?

And what becomes of Giggs' coaching mates Phil Neville, Nicky Butt & Paul Scholes?

Would van Gaal like this ol' gang still lurking in the background?

Yesterday he was raving about RVP & stating they both have the same football philosophy blah blah blah
Reading the article you would put your $$ on him being appointed captain at United

If he is anything like RVP he is arrogant as!

SAASL CHALLENGE CUP WINNER 2008 2010 2011
SAASL CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS WINNER 2010
SAASL CICHANOWSKI SHIELD WINNER 2009 2011 2012

3 year deal. At least they didn't hand him 6!

I get the feeling Van Gaal is a bit of a stop gap till they find the one they want for a longer term.
I at least hope he brings in a decent system for them to work towards.

I might be wrong but he doesn't strike me as a coach who comes in a breaks the bank.
I'd like to see some young quality signing made, defenders and wingers are required IMO.

Yes. In the future I personally would like to see them bring in someone like Brendan Rogers (obviously not him exactly) who wants to bring in a philosophy that the club is willing to implement and build on from top to bottom. Whether someone like Giggs wants to do that I'm not sure but it would be great if it was him.

You mean like Gombau

Brendan's had one year and is, quite rightly, being lauded for his achievements. Whether he can replicate that year after year, like SAF, remains to be seen.

He will sign a lot of young players. He prefers working with young talents are they generally do not have the balls to stand up to him.

And do backflips to show his agility?

He will be like going back a year t0 the United players as his general demeanor is loud and aggressive, in your face, just like Fergie at his 'best'. :P
The older I get the better I was.
