I'm hopeful- will depend in part on how Canberra approach the game, given that they've secured home field advantage and #2 spot. Will also depend on whether our girls are firing on all cylinders. Hoping for the best but big hill to climb. Also depends somewhat on what happens in the Brisbame game.

What needs to happen in the Brisbane game? Lady Reds would need to win tonight and then Newcastle have to beat Brisbane but our Goal Difference has to be better then Brisbane and Newcastle to make 4th spot is that correct?

With U16s free tonight hope lots of people come along. Should always be free for U16s really.

Good luck to the Lady reds.

Finals would be fantastic but irrespective, this would easily be their best season to date.

Credit to Jamie for putting this competitive squad together with barely 6 weeks preparation. An impressive achievement.

Ashame he goes back once this season finishes and we start all over again.

Valliant effort by the Lady Reds last night. I thought that they were on top when they conceded the penalty but the eualiser was a quality finish . Abby was clearly our best player on the night and ovr the entire season aswell. Congrats on the Best Player and Players Player awards announced after the game.

Pushing hard in the second half, I thought they were going to snatch but a late winner, but a 92nd minute shot bounced off the post and dribbled tantalizing across the face of the goal which typified a frustrating night for the reds.

Overall a much improved season and the crowds over the last 2 home games were very impressive indeed. The double header fixtures were a great success aswell although the unfortunate weather conditions robbed us of the game against Perth.

Looking forward to next season, I believe if we can keep the squad together and maybe add a bit of a killer instinct in the final third we can improve on the season just completed. Definitely our best year in the W League and congratulations should go to the players for their efforts and to the coaching staff for bringing together this group in such a short space of time.

Hopefully he does come back. Although having his wife and 3 kids staying in Perth while he was here coaching and managing foxtel>perth requirements would have been challenging as he stated. Big decision, but seemed like he enjoyed his time, so who knows...

One would think that the FFSA/Lady Reds management would move swiftly to secure key players and coaches for next season?

The club definitely needs to retain the bulk of the squad for next season otherwise all of the development is lost and they will have to start from scratch again!

the decision to secure the players and staff is not just an FFSA decision. its not that easy unfortunately. the o/s based girls have no idea what their schedule is for next year, or where they will be playing, and how their clubs feel about them playing all year round. The coach has a family and other commitments in perth. perhaps if you could offer them a bucket load of money they would sign on, but the money isnt there.

local based players are obviously going to be eager to keep going after such a successful year, and that will be a simpler process to keep them in the squad.
