Post by Argyle4Life »

Hi everyone, I have heard the league only has 8 confirmed teams at this time. Has anyone else heard differently? :?:

Well we are in as well (Strathalbyn). Not heard anything to be honest, although I daresay Adelaide Uni may not be there as they only fielded an A grade last year.

Was told that Breakers had been asked if they wanted to stay Div 3 and that Hahndorf up to Div 2?

My understanding from players who were part of that team, is that the Cove Amateurs have folded.

My mail has it that Hahndorf have already turned down the offer to go up.

If Breakers don't come down.. going to be a very light Div!

I will just be happy if all teams have an A and B grade this year.

Nope, we were rearranged this year since it didn't make sense to have a single team in a 2 team league. The Div 4(A) team has become the Div 3(C) team and is consequently moving into Div 6 from what I know.

Ridiculous that teams can decide what division they want to be in. Who runs the league the clubs or the league?

We saw the draft for Sat Div 3 and 4 tonight at SAASL.

Surprised to see Budapest in Div 3, when they have asked to go Div 5.

Also Breakers listed in Div 4, with Chin also being promoted to Div 3.

Two new teams in Div 4

M.U. Stars
Burundi Eagles

Regency Eagles have struggled in the Collegiate (not paying fines, fees, playing unrego'd players the usual stuff...)
They went from a 2 team club to a single team last season and I'm guessing the Burundi Eagles is their resurrected club but in the SAASL.
If it is... good luck.. they were a pain in the muscat! Highly talented, awfully disciplined and no organization as a club but amazing to watch on their day and the best celebrations of goals for miles !

they played as North City SC B team last year didnt they? struggled to field teams and finished bottom after having points deducted for ineligible players

Cheers! All the best to you lads in Div 4 too! Seems like Divs 3 and (especially) 4 have been put through the mixer, should be an interesting year.
