I might be posting on FN under my real name from August 2000 but I do get around under stealth observing sport and events in Adelaide Town and I know what I am talking about ,
Let's make South Australia Great again?
SA is a shite state with a poofsounding premier
leading us to oblivion.
I was at a breakfast with him on Tuesday, there was people openly laughing at the crap he was talking.
Was that breakfast with the Premier or JD?

More SA Govt money into soccer pitches all good.
But why is FFSA charging over the top fees for clubs to use them?
Wrong for tax payer funding .
So you know what the fees are that are being charged?
Have the people that ppay those fees to the FFSA told you directly that they are too high?

I have the info.

Wouldn't the logical strategy by Govt is fund the grounds for clubs directly as a community facility for no lease fees cutting out the middle person FFSA putting their hands in the kitty.
????????
Then clubs could try becoming more sustainable and in turn charge less junior fees?

The FFSA does not receive any tax funding for positions outside of coaching department.
None of its competitions costs are covered by government tax funding.

So who then pays for the water, electricity, maintenance, cleaning etc costs if the government were to lease just the grounds for free?

The clubs to fund looking after a given govt ground.
A lot of this is done by free volunteer club labour.

Another question JD.
Why hasnt West Adelaide asked you to be part of their A-League ambition ticket?

If West Adelaide do get into the A league then i think we will never have a chance of a new stadium in the city.
Need to keep filling Hindmarsh or if a 2nd team came in maybe look at getting Norwood oval redeveloped to suit Footy and soccer.

In my books Govt or councils should charge nil for watering sports grounds.

So again, who pays for it?
Are you going to allow your tax paying money to help water let's say Playford City's ground?
Considering you buy from the kids menu, its hard to believe you wanting it to come from your pocket.

I am not interested anyway.
I wish wah2 well in trying but overall I think it is a bad move.
The Hellas community in Adelaide today is not like the old and less and less people are interested in the local game .
If I want s soccer fix I can pay $900 for a return flight to Greece from Adelaide stay a few weeks at my relatives in Athens and or Thessaloniki go watch some Greek soccer there. Cheaper than going to Melbourne or Sydney for a weekend given the cost of accommodation etc in these expensive cities.

With the reactions it could have been either, but I'm assured that the bloke was indeed the Premier.

This free market user pays system just does not work for community services like education , health and hospitals , parks and sports facilities for the community as a whole.
I am happy to pay a bit more tax as a common community as a whole to provide these facilities and services to the community as a whole and then this fosters a better community.

2018 is an election year - the timing for a club in South Australia to start right now is pretty good plus for other clubs to start on their local MPs about their local situation re facilities.
cheers

With Qatar, Emirates and Southern China Airlines flying out of Adelaide Airport fares are very competitive . Not all flights are full and getting a single seat at short notice and at a price is not hard .
