Socceroos Captain Quits

Just two months after being named the new captain of the Socceroos, Mathew Leckie has decided to withdraw from the national side indefinitely due to the quarantine measures required by the Australian government for international travel.
The 30-year-old forward informed Socceroos coach Graham Arnold he will not be available for selection for next week’s World Cup qualifiers against China and Vietnam away from home and won’t likely put his hand up again while Australia’s strict 14-day hotel quarantine requirements remain in place for all in-bound international arrivals.

If he was an Italian soccer player and arrived in Australia he would not have to quarantine as he would be classed as an actor.
