Once this incident has been dealt with and punishments dealt with its time for football authorities to sit down and crack down on player and coach behavior towards match officials. Referee numbers as grass root levels are declining rapidly all over the football world. Surely its time for FIFA to take the lead role and stamp out aggressive and abusive language towards match officials and no better place to start than in major competitions.
Maybe its time to bring in the same rule as rugby where only the captain can approach an official over a decision and all other players receive yellow cards if they cross the line. Yes in the first few weeks you will huge leap in yellow and red cards, but it won't take long for player behavior to change.
