AUFC 2023/24

On the eve of the new ALW season, it's pleasing to see so many South Australians either return to the squad, or be called up for the first time. A fair few of scholarships but an opportunity nevertheless. 15 out of 25 by my count.

Returning
Emily Condon (Inter)
Isabel Hodgson (City)
Dylan Holmes (City)
Emily Hodgson (West)
Katie Bowler (Future Matildas)
Ella Tonkin (Future Matildas)
Emilia Murray (Future Matildas)
Zoe Tolland (Future Matildas)
Chrissy Panagaris (Comets)
Grace Wilson (NTC)
Erin Kontoutsikos (NTC)

Promoted
Claudia Jenkins (City)
Sian Dewey (NTC)
Lily Barber (NTC)
Madeleine Wright (NTC)

Non South-Australians
Annalee Grove
Nanako Sasaki
Maruschka Waldus
Sarah Morgan
Jenna Holtz
Mariah Lee
Hannah Blake
Alana Jancevski
Rosetta Taylor
Annabel Haffenden

Other South Australians out in the competition at other clubs:
Jenna McCormick (Brisbane Roar)
Emma Checker (Melbourne Victory)
Sarah Langman (Central Coast)

And of course, the South Australians overseas this season (who have all past through Adelaide United at one stage):
Matilda McNamara (Denmark)
Chelsie Dawber (Sweden)
Charli Grant (Sweden)
Alex Chidiac (Mexico)
Abbey Burns (USA)
Libby Davy (USA)

With 18 South Australians across the national comp, and with roughly 220 spots up for grabs, holding 8% of the spots in a professional comp is not a bad position to be in.
